About Opening Top 2000 2023

For the 25th edition of the Top 2000, we created the LED content for the powerful opening of Bart Arens' musical mash-up. In a world that felt darker in many ways in 2023, this mash-up became a heartfelt cry for more love and peace.

Featuring words from John Lennon, the emotional speech from Paolo Nutini’s Iron Sky, and the ever-relevant What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye, the mash-up opened as a plea for a better world.

Bart Arens was musically supported by legendary drummers such as Cesar Zuiderwijk (Golden Earring), Niles Vandenberg (Kensington), Jamie Westland (DI-RECT), and Norman Bonink (BLØF), alongside a 30-piece children's choir and a 30-piece orchestra.

We created the LED wall visuals that brought this special opening to life. Through immersive visuals, we enhanced the emotional impact of the music and deepened the storytelling of the mash-up.
